• Video-On-Demand — users are able to choose videos of their favorite shows from a catalog and can watch them as many times as they want.

IPTV content is delivered over the public internet or over managed networks. A private IPTV network allows the network operators to control video traffic,  and ensure quality and reliability of service. Hence, IPTV sends one program at a time. This is in contrast to traditional television programming, which broadcasts content simultaneously over various channels. One can use a computer with an ordinary web browser, a video playing app, smartphone through an IPTV app, or a set-top box with any digital TV to watch IPTV streams.

M3U is a computer file format for a multimedia playlist. One common use of the M3U file format is creating a single-entry playlist file pointing to a stream on the Internet. The file provides easy access to IPTV streams.  It is often used in downloads from a website, for emailing, and for listening to Internet radio. Therefore, many media players and software applications support the M3U format now.
