IPTV Smarters App is an Android Application based on Xtream Codes for End-Users or M3U url or M3U playlist file that provides the facility to watch Live TV, VOD, Series & TV Catchup on their Android Devices (Mobiles, Android Boxes, Fire TV Stick etc.).
How to Setup IPTV Smarters Pro with VPN
After opening, you will see the “Terms of Use” agreement. Click Accept. Click on Add New User.
You should be able to see the starting page below….
Method #1: Choosing ‘Load Your Playlist Or File/URL’
If your IPTV Provider does not have an Xtream Code, you can use an M3U URL and choose Load Your Playlist or File URL.
Most M3U URLs require that you input your service username and password. You will usually see where these go inside the URL as they are indicated by “username=xxxx” & password=xxxx”. You will input your username and password where the x’s are located.
When you choose Method #1, the App will request for access to media and other files, click on ‘ALLOW”.
Next, you will need to decide on which type of M3U type you wish to configure it for… (we would recommend to configure for the M3U URL).
Option -> M3U URL
You can type in any name description for the PLAYLIST NAME. Select the M3U URL under the PLAYLIST TYPE.
For the FILE/URL, you must input in your M3U line statement, like so:
http://iptv.service-provider.example/get.php?username=xxxxx&password=yyyyy&type=m3u_plus&output=m3u8
OR
http://iptv.service-provider.example/get.php?username=xxxxx&password=yyyyy&type=m3u_plus&output=ts
Note: “iptv.service-provider.example” is just an example, you need to key in your actual IPTV server domain!
(‘output=m3u8’ is in HLS format, ‘output=ts’ is in MPEGTS format). For more details about the difference, please check out our blog article.
To get your correct M3U line statement, you need to obtain it from your Dashboard Account of the IPTV Service Provider, like so:
Please refer to our Dashboard Guide for Users PDF on how and where to get your M3U line statement.
Then click on Add User…. and DONE!
Press on that configured settings Profile long, to show more options.
So by clicking on that configured settings Profile that represented your configured M3U URL, you should be able to get to the resultant homepage below.
Option -> FILE
You can type in any name description for the PLAYLIST NAME. Select FILE under the PLAYLIST TYPE. And you will be asked for the FILE/URL with a BROWSE…..
This is where you will click on BROWSE and proceed to ‘locate’ where your generated saved M3U File is located in your storage.
Press on that configured settings Profile long, to show more options.
So by clicking on that configured settings Profile that represented your configured M3U URL, you should be able to get to the resultant homepage below.

Getting Playback Errors on IPTV Smarters Pro?
For some IPTV service providers, one may need to pay some special attention on the Settings configuration. This is especially in concern with Stream Format – If you experience consistent playback errors, please change in between MPEGTS or HLS formats.
Playback errors appear for a couple of reasons basically, the most simple and common reason being that the channel is actually not broadcasting at all ie. means there is no streaming occurring for that channel at that time.
The other reason would most likely be a timeout error. Timeouts occur when the app program calls for the channel stream but gets no response from the channel after a short duration of time, and so it assumes that there is no broadcasting activity going on, thus produces the playback error.
A potential & common possible cause for this is that the M3U playlist is way too long aka. extremely large – and the TV device may have an issue in reading/computing it fast enough for the streams to come in. Factors that may affect that are 1) Internet performance, 2) TV Device specs and performance, 3) router configuration ie. DNS name resolutions, or 4) size of M3U playlist.
Very often than not, we would suggest users to tweak/reduce their M3U playlist down to their specific country categories that they frequently access, and tick off those that they seldom watch. You can go to your Dashboard under the Bouquet menu to do these tweaks. By ticking on the boxes for categories that you want and remove the ticks on categories that you do not want. Please refer to the Dashboard User Guide for reducing Bouquet TV categories instructions.
With regards to the IPTV Smarters Pro – the BEST method of configuration would be via the Xstream Coding method instead of the m3u file and m3u url methods, in our humble opinion. If you have been doing it via m3u url, either MPEGTS or the HLS format method both will work perfectly.
The Xstream Coding way was by far the most ‘effective’. However, Xstream servers have been shut down due to recent authorities raid in late 2019, so the next best method is via the M3U URL link method.
When doing it by MPEGTS or HLS format, one must pay attention to the General Settings and make sure that the m3u line statement generated is indeed the correct MPEGTS or HLS format for that matter. Also, ensure that the Player Settings is set to either Software Decoder or Hardware Decoder (if playback error still occurs, please set it to Hardware Decoder).
